USB Project (6th August)
Ian Coulter
2
USB DLL Added code that allows the user to choose values of some parameters such as number of readings, selected channels, which hexfile to download, where to write the data, etc… Added code that will allow the ADC to average the data across several samples before sending it to the USB
3
USB DLL The USB can now read Jack’s error flags out from the ADC and so give information about the internal state of the board We now have continuous DAQ mode which will write to the same file over several data acquisitions
4
Labview Have moved USB DLL into labview and have called the various functions to open the usb, download the hexfile and to take data from the ADC and write it to file successfully Have added options to allow the user to choose the number of readings, the channels required, the number of samples averaged over, etc…

Still to do … Want to look again at the continuous file writing to check for missing data, etc … Need to write in some way of stopping the continuous DAQ file writing Jack has added something to count the number of errors that occur. I need to work things such that this can be read out in Labview

Still to do Not really happy with the way I’m reading out variables from the DLL in Labview. It works but I don’t think its the best way. Forgot to test the Labview program with continuous DAQ. Need to do this and work out if there are any problems

Still to do … Some tuning of things in labview and in the DLL code to make it work better Would be good to allow the user to choose test mode or data mode via the Labview interface rather than using the text file. Same with choosing burst (FSI) or continuous (FFI) mode.
