What is Wisdom ? Development of a whole human is the only purpose of education or knowledge. Whole human is the only need of a global society today. A whole human (Manushya - Mananat Manushya....) can be prepared through wisdom and personal transformation. And, it's only Manushya which can solve all kinds of global problems. So where is the process which can produce a complete human being - a Purna Manav, not only a professional or a Hindu, a Muslim or an Asian, a European or a Brahmin or a Shudra or a Congress, a Communist, etc. contd …

What is Wisdom ? ♦ Rite Gyanat Na Mukti (Veda) -Brihadaranyak-upanishad (There is no salvation /Mukti without Gyan /wisdom) ♦ Satyam Gyanam Anantam Brahma (Veda) – Chhandogya -upanishad - (The Brahman is ever existing - full of consciousness and infinite) ♦ Nahi Gyanena Sadrisham Pavitramiha Vidyate - Geeta - (Nothing is purer like Gyan /wisdom) ♦ Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye - Brihadaranyak-upanishad - (It is the only knowledge which gives us ultimate liberation) A single conversation with a wise man is better than ten years of study. ~ Chinese Proverb

Differences between Knowledge (Vidya) and Wisdom (Gyan)
♦ Vidya is for personal and professional development, but Gyan is for personal transformation. ♦ Vidya is for livelihood (Jeevika), but Gyan is for life (Jeevan). ♦ Vidya is based on books, computer, etc; but Gyan is based on true realization. ♦ Vidya is limited on a particular topic, but Gyan is always holistic, infinite. ♦ Vidya makes us perfect on some subjects or issues, but Gyan makes us master of life, server of humanity. Contd….

Differences between Knowledge (Vidya) and Wisdom (Gyan)
♦ Vidya-van says " I know that“, but Gyan-van says "Aham Bramha-smi“ – (Veda). ♦ Vidya will give us clarity of different issues, but Gyan will ultimately give us infinite joy or blissfulness (Tat Twam Asi-Veda). ♦ Vidya is sort of information, but Gyan is inspiration and transformation. ♦ Vidya is an organized learning, but Gyan is realized knowing. ♦ Vidya makes our brain sharper, but Gyan discovers the consciousness (Chetana). Therefore, the Upanishad says, “Pragyanam Brahma”.

Modern World: Wisdom (Gyan) or Knowledge (Vidya) ?
♦ Modern world has progressed a lot in Vidya, but actually not in Gyan. ♦ We have made enormous physical development, but lost the spiritual awareness; so there are many imbalances ! ♦ Materialism and Militarism is an outcome of modern Vidya. ♦ Selfishness is the conclusion of Vidya. ♦ A vast darkens is created by modern Vidya. ♦ Hatred, jealousy, violence and negativity are also byproducts of modern materialistic Vidya. ♦ Aagya Chakra (Brow Centre) is quite activated, but Heart Chakra (Crown Centre) is becoming slow, so it is producing an incomplete human !! ♦ Vidya without Gyan is a sort of a vehicle which is nice, comfortable and fast, but has no break!!

Wisdom and Personal Transformation
♦ The ultimate result of wisdom is Personal transformation. ♦ Ravan had a high level of Vidya (so he was called Dashanan), but lacked in Gyan and personal transformation. ♦ It was only wisdom which transformed Socrates at the highest level. ♦ In spite of knowing, many things we don't apply because we lack in wisdom. ♦ True heroes of the world are truly transformed people, not the highly educated people. ♦ Wisdom is the only solution of all kinds of mental disorder, illnesses or problems.

World's Current Problem and Solution
♦ Problems are created by only restless or polluted human mind. (War begins from the thoughts of war) It does not rain either from the sky or grow from the earth. ♦ Root cause of any problem is human mind, so the cure is also training the mind or awakening the mind. (Man Eva Manushyanam Karanam Bandha -Mokshayo) ♦ A transformed person can address the global issues perfectly and holistically; such as- Illiteracy, environment, poverty, violence, social discrimination, security, injustice, etc. ♦ Networks are expanded but relationships are weakened. ♦ Ultimate solution of any kind of global problem is Right combination of Vidya and Gyan because after all we all human being need - Dharma, Aartha, Kam and Moksha.

Few Burning Global Issues
♦ Were the people who hit the WTC uneducated? ♦ Almost half the world — over three billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day – severe poverty. Is it because of not having enough production or equal distribution? ( ♦ 1.5 trillion US dollars is used on military expenditure annually; whereas according to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty. ♦ In spite of all kinds of facilities and education, the rate of suicide is increasing in western world. Why? ♦ A Number of educated people and learning institutions are increasing in this modern world, but the society is still suffering from many kinds of illnesses. Why? ♦ Educated people are also badly plunged into drugs, HIV/AIDS, corruption, violence, etc. Why?
