1 Heart Disease Webquest

2 TASK Health Fair!  Your school is having a health fair and you were asked by the principal to run the heart disease booth.  You will need to create a brochure or pamphlet that can be passed out to your fellow peers. The handout: needs to have factual information about heart disease and effective ways to maintain a healthy heart.  Be as resourceful as possible

3 Process – step 1 STEP ONE: You will need to gather and research updated, factual information that pertains to heart disease.  Search for the following:  What is it? What affects or causes it? What needs to be done to have a healthy heart? (ex. exercise)  American Heart Association -  National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute -  Cholesterol Eating Tips-Harvard University -   About Your Heart and Physical Activity  -  MyPryamid.gov- 

4 Process – step 2 STEP TWO: Review and organize your notes that you have taken on heart disease.  Organization:  Put the information in the order you want to present it in the pamphlet or brochure.  Also, organize and plan out how you want to set up the poster for the table. Be sure to write down all of the sources you have used, they will need to be cited.

5 Process – step 3 STEP THREE:  Now that your information has been gathered and organized, you are ready to create handout/pamphlet and poster.  Be creative Use colors Use pictures Be sure you have complete information, which is put together thoughtfully, and is free of spelling and grammar mistakes. You want your principal and peers to be impressed!

7 conclusion Congratulations!  You have completed the project.  You now have a better understanding of heart disease, what affects it and how we can maintain a healthy heart.  Hopefully, you will take the information you have learned and promote a healthy heart to your family and friends.
