Please help me out by: Checking and signing your child’s agenda each night. Sending me a note or if there was a difficulty or concern. Devising a homework/study schedule at home based around your child’s extra curricular activities

Help needed & parent resources!
Please fill out the volunteer & phone chain approval forms located in the BTSN packet and have your child return them to school by the end of next week. On my teacher webpage, you will find a leveled book list to help you assist your child in finding their “just right” book outside of school. Additionally on the webpage you will find copies of weekly homework handouts I pass out and a list of educational websites students can use for additional math practice, typing practice, finding current events, and spelling work.

REMIND app Please take out your cell phones and follow the instructions on the right, so I can communicate any important class news or send you reminders of upcoming school events to you via text message this year!

What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness is the practice of being in a moment-by- moment awareness of our thoughts, emotions, sensations and surrounding environment. Mindfulness can contribute to a richer internal learning environment and help students better relate in the moment of learning and experience. It integrates our “social smarts” by activating the parts of the brain that are responsible for attention, emotion, and behavior.
8
We use the “Take a Break” section in a comfy and safe place to go to in our room if we need to take a pause and regroup. Students then return back to the class instruction. Students are in their mindful bodies practicing deep breathing before we get into our reading class.

I look forward to a great year together!
