Most information on timelines are arranged in chronological order, which mean from earliest in time to most recent in time.

It seems easy but there are a few points of confusion. If we are dealing with years before 0 (called BC) it complicates things a bit.

If I were to arrange these #’s in chronological order, I would arrange them like this:

NOTICE: BIGGEST NEGATIVE TO SMALLEST NEGATIVE AND SMALLEST POSITIVE TO BIGGEST POSITIVE.

The same thing happens with timelines and chronological order: Biggest BC to Smallest BC, Smallest AD to Largest AD.
