2 Safety Group Action Plan:
Safety Action Plan agreed in kick off meeting: 1. Public available indicators and information 2. Follow up of the EN 16704 3. Best safety practices at work. 4. Confidential analysis of the most important accident / incidents and lessons learnt.

3 Summary responses of Safety Group
1 . PUBLIC AVAILABLE INDICATORS: It is remarkable that the reports in some countries (Austria, UK) include detected risk indexes. (See Annex 1) Also, in those countries, environmental reports are unified jointly with those of prevention. Although there are differences in the indicators available, it would be possible to make a comparison between the different countries on occupational accidents railway.

4 Summary responses of Safety Group
2 . FOLLOW UP THE EN : The standard is already implemented in France, United Kingdom and Germany. There are no relevant comments regarding its application. In Spain detected important gaps (basically in terms of Homologated protection fences and the evaluation method of Risk Management) regarding the current legal framework. This information will be transferred to the Standardization Agency (AENOR).

5 Summary responses of Safety Group
3 . BEST SAFETY PRACTICES AT WORK: Psychosocial risks of railway workers (work under pressure, verbal communication, customer relationship, shift work, etc). Proposed by UK. At the level of technical safety, UK and Spain are working on vibration studies by manual rail machinery. UK is working about the condition of the silica dust generated by ballast.

6 Summary responses of Safety Group
4 . CONFIDENTIAL ANALYSIS OF ACCIDENTS: The sole information provided by UK is a report published by the Network Rail with accident rates of fatal accidents occurring in railway infrastructures. Interesting UIC's report on accidents at European railway infrastructure. It includes typology and causes of railway accidents but mainly linked to operation.
