Methods of making Herbal Oils
Medicinal Oils can be used alone, or can form the basis of salves and balms. The general principal is simple: Oil + heat + herbs = Herbal Oil. The quality and strength of your homemade herbal oils depends not so much on exact measurements, as it does on making sure you cover all the plant matter, so no spoilage occurs. The most versatile and easy system for measurements is the simplers method, because it is based on ratios, measurements are referred to as "parts", for instance 1 parts dried herb ,5 parts oil is a very common herbal oil formula. There can so much variation in the strength of herbs (due to growing and harvesting conditions, fresh or dried, etc.)

Pain Herbs For Natural Relief
Herbal remedies for pain include herbal teas, tinctures, extracts and topical pain relievers like cayenne , rosemary, and Arnica. Pain is symptomatic of a wide range of conditions, but it falls into two general categories, chronic pain that is ongoing and long term, and occasional or temporary pain. Strong pain medications, including narcotics can be taken with caution on a temporary basis, (broken leg, surgery) but taken over the long term, the benefits are outweighed by the risks. Pain relieving herbs have analgesic properties and a good many of them also fight inflammation, a root cause of many types of pain. Chronic pain is a symptom of an underlying imbalance, and it is important to address that imbalance as well as try to find ways to lessen the pain.

Salicin Salicin is a precursor chemical to salicylate, the compound found in aspirin that inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins, lipid compounds that are linked to inflammation and pain. Long before Bayer synthesizes aspirin in the late 1890s, Hippocrates(400 BC) was prescribing treatments using the bark of the white willow tree to relieve pain and reduce fever.

Olive Oil Olive oil is great for hair because of the several properties it has – it is nourishing oil that manages to penetrate the hair shaft much more effectively than other oils; it has good moisturizing action, and is also an excellent hair conditioner. If you use the extra virgin variety, your hair also receives vitamin E and mono unsaturated fatty acids that play an important role in promoting hair growth.

However, if you have an allergy to nuts, it is best to avoid almond oil.
