2 What should a driver do when involved in or come upon a traffic crash?
Stop in a well lighted environment Call 911 Help injured people (Only if trained in first aid) Warn other drivers by using hazard lights/flares Ask all those involved for their names, addresses, phone numbers, driver’s licenses, license plate numbers and insurance information

3 Crash Reports Regardless of fault, a crash must be filed:
Crash involves death Crash involves injury Crash involves property damage over $1500 or over $500 if a vehicle owner is uninsured

4 Crash Reports A crash report can be made by notifying:
City police (within city limits) State police (rural area) County Sheriff (rural area)

5 Unattended Vehicle Stop vehicle in an area away from traffic
Leave your name, address, phone number, and license plate number Notify Police Complete all requested crash reports

6 Leaving the Scene of a Crash
A driver has 30 minutes to report a crash after it occurs Leaving the scene of a crash will result in a fine, suspension of driver’s license and jail time
