NJ law requires all applicants for any license to have their eye sight checked through a vision test given by a doctor or administered at a MVC agency. You must pass a knowledge test by scoring at least 80% on 50 questions. For a basic license, you must have 20/50 vision with or without glasses. For the knowledge test, you must answer 40 of 50 questions correctly.
