2 What is the Core-Domain Sphere Model?
Core-domain-sphere model, which is also known as the D.W. Meinig, is a model that shows the place where concentration of culture traits that characterizes a region is greatest.

4 The core is also known as the ‘heart’ It is the area in the cultural region where where the traits of a given culture are most strongly seenxpressed. Core

5 This is the area in which the particular culture is dominant but less intense.

6 The sphere is the zone of outer influence where people with the culture traits in question can even be a minority within another culture region. Sphere Domain Core

The Core-Domain Sphere Model was created by Donald W. Meinig.

8 Example of Core-Domain Sphere Model
The play of baseball in the Americas is a great example of the Core-Domain Sphere Model. It displays where baseball is mostly played and where it is not played as much.

9 Another Example Another example of the Core-Domain Sphere Model is the Mormon religion. The Mormon religion is primarily in Salt Lake City, Utah. It then starts to spread out to other parts of Utah and other surrounding states.

10 How does the model help us today?
The Core-Domain Sphere Model help us by pointing out where the greatest amount of cultural traits is in a culture.
