Officers led the council in an ice breaker named “form bananas”. NM

Team Training FACES Equal Distance Food Activity Color Entertainer
Site (Natural) Equal Distance The council familiarized themselves with each other by exchanging information such as favorite foods and colors. The council also learned the importance of each member of the council by playing a game named “equal distance”. NM

We will be using both Twitter and your addresses to contact you and remind you of various events. Our website with have our calendar and any other documents you might need to have. Jordan Gates explained to the council how to utilize the Boswell twitter for reminders and updates on the school. The website will now have a copy of the calendar and attendance sheets for students to access. SW

Committee reports Committee Head Search Energy & Environment and Publicity need Committee Heads Applications available at the August 15 Mtg, due August 24 in A- 104, and interviews will be before the meeting on August 29. Committee Assignments Spirit – Sami Teacher Appreciation – Bri Energy and Environment – Open (Collin) Pride and Patriotism – Meg Drug, Alcohol, Safety, and Health – Sydney Publicity – Open (Jordan) Community Service - Rachel Collin introduced the current executive board and told the council about the open positions. There were no class officers present. The idea of a student council representative to collaborate with class officers was proposed. SW

Old Business Summer Workshop, July 10-14 Leadership Expectations AR
Officers talked about their experiences at summer workshop. AR

Theme and Goals Ms.Keyes explained to the council about our Homecoming theme of “Classic Boswell” and Collin listed our council goals. AR

Shirts A exact shirt design has not yet been selected, officers are working on coming up with a design. AR

Fundraisers Donations Donations Only Car Wash…pending Telethon
First Aid Kits Restaurant Nights? Collin explain the first aid kit fundraiser to the council. Ms.Keyes explained to the council how our first telethon would work. The idea of a car wash and restaurant nights were discussed. AR

Point Sheets Each approximately 6 weeks the point sheets will be due. You must complete the minimum number of points each month to remain an active Student Council Member. Jordan Gates explained the purpose of the point sheets and described how they would work and be used for monthly accountability checks. AR

Schedule Pick-Up August 10th for Juniors and Seniors: 9: :30 and 12:30 - 3:30 August 11th for Freshmen: 1:00 - 2:00 and 4:00 - 5:00 (after Fish Camp) August 12th for Sophomores: 9: :30 August 12th for students that could not make the times above then they can come to the front office from 12:00 - 4:00. Collin told each grade about the schedule pick-up time that was applicable to them. AR

FISH Camp Last Name A-M Will attend the morning session from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Lunch will be served from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM Last Name N-Z Will attend the afternoon session from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM StuCo will be Collin told the council about the opportunity to help out at Fish Camp. AR

Sportsfest August 13th We definitely want you to be there! AR
Collin and Jordan explained what Sports Fest was and how council attendance was appreciated and would be rewarded. AR

Senior Sunrise - August 18
On the football field ONLY seniors be there by 6:00 am. It starts at 6:30 am and ends at 7:00 am. Jordan explained the history of senior sunrise and how all seniors are encouraged to participate. AR

Teacher Pancake Breakfast
August 19 The event is from 6:30 to 9:30 am! Sign up on SIGN UP GENIUS to work and bring items: Ms.Keyes explained how Boswell’s first pancake breakfast would work and students were encouraged to sign up to cook and bring needed items using “sign up genius”.

StuCo Teacher’s Helpers
August 19 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Helping teachers with various things to get their rooms ready. Jordan explained how after the pancake breakfast the council would help teachers with setting up their new rooms and help them with any other tasks they may need completed.

Membership Drive August 29-September 9
More representatives from the entire student body! Applications will be available from Mrs. Newcomb and Ms. Keyes in our classroom and the leadership room (A-104) Jordan described to the council how the council would put on a membership drive to branch out to the student body in hopes to expand the council and it’s connections with other organizations.

Howdy Week August 29-Spetember 2
Sign Ups will be on Sign Up Genius: Please bring them to the next meeting on the August 15. Monday – Fish for Fish (Large bags of Swedish Fish, Snack size Ziplock bags) Tuesday – Save a Sophomore (Individually wrapped Lifesavers) Wednesday – Jokin’ with the Juniors (Individually wrapped Laffy Taffy) Thursday – Sovereign Seniors (Hershey Kisses, Burger King Crowns) Friday – Stay Cool Boswell! (Handout Popsicles after school to all Students and Staff) Sydney explained the purpose of fish week and what the purpose of each day was. She also explained how by participating in Howdy week by either donating needed candy or distributing it would be rewarded with points.

Save The Date Homecoming Spirit Week - October Decades (50s, 60s, 70s, 80s) Homecoming Faculty Lunch – October 6 Homecoming Dance – October 8 Stockyards Station Fall District – October 15 SASC Conference – October 14-18 BOS - October 26 Inside in the science hall from 6:00-7:00 pm Red Ribbon Week – October 24-28 Collin, Jordan, and Sydney explained different listed dates, what the events were, and encouraged council participation.

Announcements Next Meeting August 15 at 4:00
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL AUGUST 22 Sign up for twitter text messages T-Shirts -$15 give the money to Ms. Keyes or Mrs. Newcomb Collin, Jordan, and Sydney explained the “announcements” song to the council and taught the words of the song. Jordan then announced the next meeting, first day of school, and reiterated how the council should follow the twitter. Jordan also explained how the t-shirt designs were not yet final but they would be before the next meeting so council members should bring $15 to the August 15th meeting to order their t-shirt.
