I. Prepositional Phrases
A prepositional phrase begins with a preposition
1. a preposition is a word that shows a relationship between two nouns: place or time

4. Prepositional Phrases
B. Prepositional phrases end with a noun or pronoun. It is called the OBJECT OF THE PREPOSITION.
1. It answers the question who or what after a preposition
2. Example: near the wall
ASK who or what after prep
Answer will be the object- and it will be the end of the phrase

5. C. There are two types of prepositional phrases
1. Adjective phrases: usually modify the word it follows LOCATION_ LOCATION_ LOCATION
a. Answers the same question adjectives answer

b.The girl by the water sings well.

6. 2. The adverb phrase a. Modifies a verb, adjective, or other adverb
