In the Manner of the Adverb
2
How To Play Pick a student to go out in the hall (for just a minute).
The students in the classroom pick an adverb. The student comes back into the classroom. The student sent into the hall now has the job of figuring out the adverb that the class has chosen. This is done by asking classmates to do something “in the manner of the adverb”. The student can chose something to be pantomimed, such as “eat your dinner”. The student can also chose something that can be done in the classroom such as “tie your shoe” or “take a book from the teacher”. This document provides lists of both adverbs and actions to help facilitate the game. In addition the adverbs and actions have been put in a chart you can cut, put in a big, and have the students pick out adverbs and actions if you’d like to play that way.
