Introduction It is always important to have demand for a service/supply before you fully have the program running to avoid wastage through expiries. Sayana Press was introduced in Uganda in 2015 in ten districts. Presented the project to MoH MCH working group which is a decision making body. MoH wrote introductory letter to districts. Obtained buy-in from district leaderships and obtained entry points to the communities. Working with CHWs (VHTs) which is already existing structures in the communities. Communicating for method uptake
Conducted formative assessment to gather information that guided development and implementation of the Social Behavior Change Communication intervention. Developed communication strategy based on the findings of formative research. Provider – Client communication: Produced leaflets and posters; and trained VHTs in Inter Personal Communication. Mass media: Developed and broadcasted radio spots and radio talk shows on 11 radio stations all with the purpose of popularizing the method and mobilizing clients. Peer – to – peer and community centered communication-Community Mobilization Held Community Dialogues with religious leaders, elders, women, men and youth Toll-free Hotline Provided counseling and information on family planning in general and Sayana Press Sensitization meetings Increasing Access to Next Generation Injectables - January 30 - February 2, Dakar, Senegal

Recommendations for Advocacy
Strengthen community structures to enable them provide short term family planning methods and Sayana Press. Strengthen the supply chain to have last mile delivery for FP commodities. Train more VHTs and health workers to provide Sayana Press country wide Include sayana press into national Medical Stores’ distribution system. Integrate Sayana Press in the HMIS system Increasing Access to Next Generation Injectables - January 30 - February 2, Dakar, Senegal
