It sent piles and piles of ash into the air causing air travel to come to a stand still
Approximately ten centimetres of ash has settled on the ground
Day turns to night with the falling of thick ash
Families evacuated from their homes
Smell of sulphur in the air

11 workers feared missing and feared dead
Environmental experts are also concerned about the effects of the oil spill on local wildlife
The oil spill now covers 74,100sq km and has spread within the 32km of the coast of Louisiana

8. The effects of the oil spill
Birds and fish are being effected because of the oil spill. Birds are dying because they have nothing to eat.
Dolphins, whales and reptiles are dying because they cant go to the surface to breathe.
