a.) body of knowledge
b.) an occupation or a profession of a teacher

Vocation comes from the latin word “vocare” which means “ to call”. Based on the etymology of the word, vocation, therefore, means a call.”
It is a strong feeling of sustainability for a particular career or occupation
For Christians, the Caller is God Himself. For our Muslim brothers and sisters, its Allah
A calling is a sacred gift, it’s a way to reach out. ( Chard, 2002).
We know Abraham, the first one called by God, to become the Father of a great Nation, the nation of God’s chosen people
We recall Moses who was called while in Egypt to lead God’s chosen people out of Egypt in order to free them from slavery.
True Vocation is using your gifts for the benefit of others in a way that makes you happy. You don’t necessarily need a paying occupation to do that
We are familiar with Muhammad, the last of the prophets to be called by Allah, to spread His teachings
Buddha must have also heard the call to abandon his royal life in order to seek the answer to the suffering.

A teacher who practices teaching as his vocation responds to the strong feeling, or calling for service, just like historic biblical figures, with utmost dedication.

1.) The teaching process is done for remuneration
2.) There is expectation of certain expertise
