And He Himself gave (as gifts; ‘gave’; Eph. 4:7,8) Some (people) to be apostles (the twelve; 2:20) " prophets (2:20; Acts 13:1ff) " evangelists (Philip; Acts 8:26ff) " shepherds and teachers (What is their task?) for the training/preparation of the saints (Why prepare saints?) to do the work of service/ministry (Why saints in. work?) for the building up of the Body of Christ

2. Ephesians 4:11-16 Until we all reach to the unity of the faith,
to the knowledge of God's Son,
to a mature person,
to the standard of Christ's full stature,
(So that we might not....
But.....we might)

3. Ephesians 4:11-16 so that we might no longer be children, The Product
(who are) tossed/thrown around by the waves,
(who are) confused/dizzied by every wind of teaching,
(what kind of ‘waves & winds’?) by the trickery of people
by cleverness
who promote deceitful ‘schemes’.

4. Ephesians 4:11-16 But, being truthful/practicing truth in love,
we might grow up into Christ
who is the Head.
Connected to him the whole Body grows.
Fitted and held together
through every supporting ligament--
as each person does his/her part--
causes the Body to grow and build itself up in love.
