4. 1. We don’t ask
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

5. 2. We ask for the wrong reasons
You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
James 4: 2-3

6. 3. We ask for the wrong things
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

7. 4. We are not persistent enough
“Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!”

I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
