What are examples and non-examples of well-designed technology-based instructional materials?
3
What differentiates those materials that are well designed from those that are not?
4
Why is Colour Important in Design?
5
Colour is a very crucial element to consider in designing
Colour is a very crucial element to consider in designing. The main concern is with the contrast between the text color and the background. If one is darker, make the other lighter. Also try to use complementary colors to prevent colors from clashing.
7
Text Size Colour appropriateness of font style legibility of the text
the use of active versus passive voice in the text use of headings how important materials are identified in the text
8
Avoid long sentences Larger font indicates more important information Font size generally ranges from 18 to 48 point Be sure text contrasts with background Fancy fonts can be hard to read Words in all capital letters are hard to read Avoid abbreviations and acronyms Limit punctuation marks
9

12
How Do These Principles Apply To Images?
balance colour appeal to audience
14
Audio At what point in the instructional event should audio be used?
What role should it play? What are some of the possible reasons for using audio in your class?
15
Video What are some of the ways in which you would use videos in your class? At what point in the lesson do you think videos would be most appropriately incorporated? Would you allow your students to submit videos that they create for a class project?

Design a Presentation that includes the following:
