“Lamb to the Slaughter”: Text Based Questions
Brief description of activity here Follow the directions below to complete the activity. Students will read the short story “Lamb to the Slaughter” on the specified website. Students will receive text based questions. Students will provide text based answers for each question using quotation marks and parenthetical citations that specify the page number of the story that the answer was found on. Citations should read like this: “write text here” (2). This task uses: Common Core/NG Standard(s): RL 1 1. Cite the textual evidence that most strongly supports an analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Kristi Miller School: Oak Park Middle School Grade Level/Subject: 8th ELA Task Card Level: 1 Special Directions/Considerations: Students may work in pairs to more easily find the text based answers. Activity Evaluation: Teacher will perform a summative assessment on the text based questions. Prerequisites for students: Text being used (from the High School ELA Guidebook): “Lamb to the Slaughter”
