How to Handle Medical Waste
8/7/2018 Nearly 4 MILLION Tons are generated by Healthcare yearly. As much as 25% of it is hazardous It could harm you, your co-workers, your family or even kill you if not properly handled.

Do not transport biohazardous waste in the same container as regular waste or linen.
Do not transport waste uncovered. Do not pile trash above top of cart. Do not transport waste in patient or visitor elevators unless no other means of transportation exists. Always wear gloves when handling biohazardous waste. Always wear an apron, gown or jumpsuite while transporting biohazardous material. Never push waste down with hands or feet. Always carry waste away from your body.
