Follow same ionic rules with an added twist. Because most transition metals have multiple oxidation states we have to be able to tell which oxidation state this cation is in. Name the cation, add the Roman numeral that corresponds to its oxidation state, then name the anion. Fe2O3 FeO Iron (III) Oxide Iron (II) Oxide
