4. Rhythm in Languages Speaking is a little like making music.
Syllables and words come together to make sentences in the same way that individual music notes come together to make a song.
We use the way we say words and sentences to make our meaning clear and to express our feelings and emotions.

English really emphasizes the difference between unstressed and stressed syllables.
Stressed syllables are louder, longer, and more clear. Unstressed syllables are shorter, softer and sometimes has parts of the sound dropped
