2 World News John F Kennedy, was elected president in 1960’s. He was assonated in 1963. Richard M Nixon became president in 69 Vietnam was going on Civil Right movement took place in the 60s World and national news had a huge impact of teenagers in the 60s because everyone was able to see what was going on because of tv. It encouraged everyone to rebel and stand up for their rights.

Church keys before pop tops cans there were openers there were designed to puncture a beer can A gas: having alot of fun Rave on: please keep going Some of the toys from the 60s were the etch-a-sketch, Hula hoop, Lincoln logs, paddle ball, and slinky! Some of these we still play with today! Some of the well-know movie stars were John Wayne who made westerns, Kathryn Hepburn who won awards, Bob Newhart was a comedian, and the Ed Sullivan Comedy hour who first brought the Beatles to American TV. 60’s tv shows The Hathaway's on Friday nights at 8PM ON ABC FROM 1961 TO Tarzan abc on Fridays 7: to Batman nbc Thursdays 7: to lassie on at 7pm 1954 to 1971. 60’s music The beetles were popular in the 60’s, Elvis Presley, the beach boys, rolling stones, and James brown were also popular MOVIE STARS OF THE 60s Entertainment impacted teens to rebell and go against their parents. Music was a big factor in this with the introduction Of rock and roll. Also the fact that there was more exposure to these events through the TV impacted teenagers.

Begin to build the berlin wall The first disco in California opens James Bond Freeze dried coffee is introduced Woodstock and hippies were also a huge influence with teenagers in the 60s and made an impact on them. Pop culture changed a lot during the 60s, and the main theme for a lot of teenagers was rebellion.

5 Hippie fashion-this style of fashion we easy and simple
Hippie fashion-this style of fashion we easy and simple. Jeans, long skirts, and lots of fringe made them stand out. Flared pants-the flared pant leg was huge in the 60s, along with the high waist! Vests-became popular in the 60s worn by hippies and everyone! Mini skirts and dresses-the length of the dress and skirt went to above the knee. More women were wearing shorter lengths then they every had. fashion The fashion of the 60s changed more drastically than it had in a long time. These new clothes had an impact on teenagers by encouraging them to wear something different than their parents had or thought was respectable.

6 Conclusion Our group felt that the 1960s impacted teenagers in lots of ways, but that it all came down to being rebellious and going against their parents. Our research showed us that music, tv, and fashion all had a hand in impacting teenagers. But we don’t feel that it impacted all teeagers to be bad—just different. More different than we had seen before. It seems to be very similar to our society.
