Thermoregulatory responses to LASER therapy
Aluminum Gallium Arsenide (Ga-Al-As) semiconductor laser was used. Patients studied Seven ankle sprains Two tibia fractures One elbow dislocation Looked at temperature at the site of the injury and the periphery surrounding it. Photo: ithermography.com

Treatment Using the (Ga-Al-As) laser, each patient received three to five minutes of treatment with one minute on each site. After each treatment the temperature was measured to see any changes. This continued five days post injury.
3
Results Treatment showed to decrease the temperature directly surrounding the area and in the periphery. It fell by an average of 3 degrees Researchers concluded that LASER therapy improves circulation and helps reduce swelling and edema.
