COAL FIRM ARMSTRONG FILES FOR CHAPTER 11 U.S. coal-mining firm Armstrong Energy Inc. filed for bankruptcy Wednesday and plans to turn over the company to a competitor and lender, reports Katy Stech Ferek. Armstrong plans to use the chapter 11 process to transfer ownership of its mines and other operations to a new entity that will be formed by coal company Knight Hawk Holdings LLC and investment fund manager Yorktown Partners LLC.
