The Vision Bradford Preparatory School will use innovative methods to provide a quality education in a smaller, more responsive learning environment. We will challenge students to develop the critical thinking skills, creativity and communication skills required for success in college and the workplace. Our school community – including students, teachers, administrators, parents and other community members – will all work together to support the students in a way that invites learning to become a lifelong endeavor.

Kindergarten- 4 classes with 20 students each
Class Sizes Four to five classes per grade in grades K-11 for a total of 1,270 students for the school year. Kindergarten- 4 classes with 20 students each 1st Grade- 4 classes with 22 students each 2nd Grade- 4 classes with 22 students each 3rd and 4th Grade- 5 classes with 24 students each 5h – 10th Grades- 4 classes with 24 students each

Education Program The primary components of our education program include: Teacher designed curriculum based on the Core Knowledge strategies Brain-based learning strategies ENRICH Program Cross curricular project-based learning 1:1 technology program in Upper School with school issued laptops Shared laptops available for 5- 8th grade in all of their core classes

The Lower School Grades K-4 Quarterly portfolio assessments
Educational program decisions not based solely on standardized test scores – developing creativity and critical thinking skills are of the utmost importance Use of technology is minimal – primarily just for assessments, teacher directed enrichment and special projects Students given ample time to complete independent work and daily reading during the school day so that when they come home, they have time to play outside or spend time with their family

The Middle School Grades 5-8 Grades given beginning in 5th grade
All students take math, science, social studies, ELA, Spanish, PE, Art and Music Study hall every day for all students Advisory Beginning the process of helping students discover who they are and learn about their strengths and interests Fall Retreats and Spring Overnight Trips

The Upper School Math, Science, Social Studies and English, Spanish for all students Students choose from a variety of electives in the Upper School 2 credits of PE required Upper School ENRICH classes every year 1:1 technology (school issued laptops) in Upper School Spring Overnight Trips Standard, Honors and AP courses offered Course Registration meetings scheduled with School Counselor in the spring

College Prep College/Student Compatibility – Intentional time set aside to work with each student through advisory program to consider a college that would be a good fit for their personality and their chosen major Preparing students for college application process – School curriculum and course sequencing designed to fully prepare our students for college and, subsequently, their career. Graduation requirements aligned with the most competitive college admission standards around the country. Opportunities throughout the middle school and upper school years for each student to begin to develop a vision for their future vocation. College visits woven throughout overnight trips to expose students to a variety of colleges and universities

ENRICH Program The ENRICH program has been specifically created by Bradford Prep to address our responsibility to equip young people with the necessary qualities and competencies to: Live Well Interact Well Present Well Work Well Kelly The ENRICH Program has been developed by Bradford Prep School board to specifically address our responsibility to equip young people with the necessary qualities and competencies to live well, interact well, present well, and work well. It is our objective to support each student’s development to be prepared to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life. Areas of focus will include:

ENRICH Program Program is woven throughout the day and into the daily morning meeting for Lower School students. Middle and Upper School students participate in single sex advisory groups comprised of students during lunch time. Upper School students take the following courses: 9th grade – Study Skills combined with an intensive writing and rhetoric class 10th grade – SAT and ACT Test Prep 11th grade –Practical Personal Finance class by Dave Ramsey 12th grade - Senior thesis or internship in field of interest

Foreign Language, Art and Music
Spanish twice weekly in grades K-4 In grades 5-6, students will take both Spanish and Latin Beginning in grade 7, students placed in full year Spanish courses Music and art offered from grades K-12 “Measure Up” violin program for 4th graders

Athletics and Extracurricular Clubs
Athletics Teams Fall - Boys Soccer, Girls Volleyball and Cross Country Winter - Boys and Girls Basketball, Cheerleading, Swimming, Club Wrestling Spring - Boys Baseball, Girls Softball and Girls Soccer Will continue to add teams as student interest develops Extracurricular Clubs Currently have Student Government, Junior National Honor Society, Musical Theater Club, Battle of the Books, Speech and Debate and Club 180. *Additional clubs will be added based on student interest.
