Physics Experimental Method Results… preliminary still! Temporary achievements… M. La Commara Physics Main research topic: decay modes of CN with different N/Z ratios Why..? H.I. collisions with stable and radioactive beams are ideal to explore the response of nuclei under different extreme situations Low energy domain E < 15 A·MeV is dominated by fusion processes that can be very complex and largely affected by several key factors: structure, angular momentum, dynamical effects, and N/Z of the compound system 3

Physics Experimental Method Results… preliminary still! Temporary achievements… M. La Commara N/Z degree of freedom is expected to play a crucial role on decay path, since: - the level-density parameter is related to the effective mass, a property of the effective nucleon-nucleon interaction that is sensitive to the neutron-proton composition of the nuclei - the fission barriers depend strongly on the symmetry energy, i.e. on the isospin asymmetry contribution The competition among CN decay modes ruled by fundamental properties as level density, fission barriers, nuclear viscosity we focus in particular on light Ba-isotopes decay which leads towards residues lying in proximity of 100Sn … 4
