Battle of Savannah The Battle of Savannah was a battle between the Americans and British. The French also joined the Americans. This happened because the British captured Savannah from the Americans. Also the Irish, Polish, Spanish, Dutch, Scottish, Native Americans, ect. Were involved.

Battle of Savannah The battle took place on December 29, 1778.
It occurred in Savannah, Georgia. Major General Benjamin Lincoln raised a navy and contacted the French, whose fleet had been raiding British ships inn the Caribbean sea.

The Battle of Savannah The day of the battle the weather was F with calm winds. The Americans lost over 550 men and all their artillery. Howe, who was the American leader, was forced to retire to South Carolina.

The Battle of Savannah French's army units were fought on American soil for the first time. Americans didn’t want to lose the south so they were determined to win the war. With the Americans and French combined they loss over 800 men, with only 55 British men being killed or injured.

The Battle of Savannah This war is said to be the second bloodiest war. The British won this battle because they had more men than the Americans and French.
