Career Clusters What Are Career Clusters?
A group of related occupations Helps you to find less-common careers related to ones you commonly hear about A way to help students find careers, colleges and majors of interest A way to help students strategically make academic plans

Naviance Activities: 9th, 10th and 11th grade Cluster Finder Activity today Career-Related Learning Experience 3-8-hour experience learning about another person’s career Can be done via: Job Shadow, Career Day/Spotlight, Interview Complete CRLE Request Form today Résumé A document that records your education, service and employment experiences, usually for purpose of a job Complete Resume Builder Activity today Senior Meeting

Cluster Finder Select activities that interest you, name some of your personal qualities and pick your favorite school subjects Once all entered, you will see what clusters best match your choices You will save your top three clusters to your profile You will select careers from these clusters to fill out your CRLE Request form

Career-related learning experience
You have two options for placement: Option 1: Chamber of Commerce will place Requires CRLE Request Form and Resume You enter your name and information on top of front side On back side, you enter 3 career interests Cluster Finder activity can help determine what career interests to use Chamber will place you at an experience related to your choices Will be placed in a Career Day, Career Spotlight or Job Shadow Option 2: You can place yourself with a business contact that you know You have to fill out your information and theirs on the front of the CRLE Request Form, but leave the backside blank This is less common

Resume Highlights your experiences in education, community service and employment as well as special skills, awards or positions you’ve held Easy way to have all your information in one place Used to apply for jobs, receive letters of recommendation, and to keep track of experiences you’ve had Should be regularly updated by you Is part of your senior project portfolio

Resume It’s okay if your resume is a little bare
Think of ways you can add to it over the summer! Today, you must fill in at least these sections: Education Skills/Academic Achievement Important: you need to tie your resume in some way to the career interests you put on your CRLE Request Form Can be a class, volunteering experience, sport/activity, etc. Ask for help if you need to brainstorm! Add information in any other sections if you can!
