3 Use a cover letter.

4 A cover letter is a business style letter that you include with your resume (put it on top of your resume—cover it!)

5 The purpose of your cover letter is to get the reader’s attention, introduce yourself, explain why you want the position you are seeking.

6 Use it to point out and emphasize areas where you meet the needs of the employer.
