4 Definition and Meaning John D. Millet says, “Planning is process of determining the objectives of administrative effort and devising the means calculated to achieve them”. He also says,  “Planning is the simply endeavor to apply foresight to human activity, planning anticipate desired results and prepared the steps necessary for their realization”.  Those who fail to plan, actually plan to fail.

5  National survey in town planning This survey is conducted at national level which includes different regions..survey is conducted to obtain information about, natural resources, potential for locating industries, fixing railways alignment, hydroelectric works etc.

7 Planning Process  There is no one best defined process of planning.  Steps involved vary from person to person and situation to situation.  Steps involved in planning are not rigid. Here, Seckler Hudson

10 Planning Machinery  Most countries of the world have established a planning agency of one kind or another for the planning of economy and administration.  The structure, composition and the internal organization may vary from country to country but the functions they perform are almost similar.  It is not the responsibility of a single agency and it requires the consent and advice of the whole representative institutions..

11 Planning machinery  Planning agency is involved throughout in the planning process form formulation to implementation and then post implementation.  Head of planning agency vary in different government systems.  Staff of planning is selected from variety of specialists and generalists.

14 DEVELOPMENT PLANN   The federal Ministry of Planning and Development prepares a five year plan   establishes the broad policy directions and allocates a budget for them.   The five year plan is a massive exercise which involves consultations with   provincial and district planning agencies, NGOs, Chambers of Commerce and Industry, private sector developers and the corporate sector

15   International Financial Institutions (IFIs) are also involved in this process.   This exercise is coordinated by the Planning Commission, a federal institution with research facilities and which also monitors and reviews five year plan performances.   In addition to the five year plan, an annual development plan is also developed for each UC, tehsil, district and province. 16 AGGRICULTURE PLANNING POLICY   Agricultural policy describes a set of laws relating to domestic agriculture and imports of foreign agricultural products. Governments usually implement agricultural policies with the goal of achieving a specific outcome in the domestic agricultural product markets.

17 WHAT IS FARM PLANNING   Farm planning is a process to allocate the scare resources of the farm   to organize the farm production in such a way as   to increase the resource use efficiency and the income of the farmer.

18 ECONOMIC PLANNING   Economic planning is a term used to describe the long term plans of an incumbent government to manage the economy.   Economic planning is a common feature of big government and usually dictates increased spending and   deficits to fund government programs and public works projects

19 NATURAL RESOURCES PLANNING   Natural resource planning survey deals   with managing the way in which people and natural landscapes interact.   It brings together land use planning, water management, biodiversity conservation, and the future sustainability of industries like agriculture, mining, tourism, fisheries and forestry.

20 Urban management plan   Urban planning is a technical and political process concerned with the development   and use of land, planning permission, protection and use of the environment, public welfare, and the design of the urban environment,   including air, water, and the infrastructure passing into and out of urban areas, such as...

21 EDUCATION PLANN SURVEY   Educational planning defined   as 'the process of setting out in advance, strategies, policies, procedures, programs and standards through which an educational objective (or set of objectives) can be achieved'. Educational planning is a detailed and systematic process: it just does not happen by chance.

22 COMMUNICATION PLANNING   Communication planning is the art and science of reaching target audiences using marketing communication channels such as advertising, public relations, experiences or direct mail for example. It is concerned with deciding who to target, when, with what message and how.

23 NATIONAL HEALTH PLANN   The NATIONAL Health Plan Survey is a tool for collecting standardized information on enrollees' experiences with health plans and their services. Since its launch in 1997,   this survey has become the national standard for measuring and reporting on the experiences of consumers with their health plans. A version of this survey is conducted in almost every State in the U.S.

24 Rural plan survey   It includes regional cities, towns and rural land as well as the state's natural areas.   Rural and regional planning aims to enhance regional growth opportunities through effective planning for land use and development in regional Victoria.
