2 Why is high school such a big deal??
High School is preparing you for the real world. Habits you develop in high school tend to predict your work habits. We are here to help you achieve your goal!

3 How is high school like a career ?
Although you don’t get paid, high school is your job for 4 years! What would happen at your job if you missed a lot of work? What would happen at your job if you didn’t complete a project? What would happen at your job if you got in a fight? What would happen at your job if you had perfect attendance? What would happen at your job if you did an outstanding job on a project?

4 Who do you want to hire or admit to college?
Austin A Report card of A’s, B’s, C’s. Missed 4 days of school 0 detentions or referrals Austin b Report card of D’s & F’s Missed 16 days of school 2 detentions, 1 ISS

5 Credits and GPA Credits 0-12 – Freshman 13-24 – Sophomore
25-36 – Junior 37-47 – Senior Need 47 to graduate! Academic Probation for those who do not earn average of 4 credits per trimester. GPA A 4.0 A B+ 3.33 B 3.0 B C+ 2.33 C 2.0 C D+ 1.33 D 1.0 D- .67

7 Indiana Core 40 8 credits in English
6 credits in Math (Alg I, Geom, Alg II) 6 credits in Science (Bio, ICP/Chem/Physics, advanced science) 6 credits in Social Studies (US History, Gov, Econ, and either W. History or W. Geography) 2 PE 1 Health 1 Careers 1 Career Pathway Project Students must take a math or math reasoning course each year in high school.

8 Indiana Core 40 with Academic Honors
Same as Core 40 plus: 2 Additional math credits 6-8 world language credits 2 fine arts credits All grades must be a C- or better GPA must be a B- or better Must also complete 1 of the following Complete AP courses 4 credits and AP exams Earn 1750 on SAT (CR+M+W) Score 26 on ACT Complete 6 dual credits Complete combination of AP courses and dual credits.

9 Indiana Core 40 with Technical Honors
Same as Core 40 plus: Complete a career/technical pathway (6 credits) and one of the following: Pathway designated certification Dual credits from list of priority courses resulting in 6 college credits Earn a C- or better in courses Have a GPA of B- or better Must also: Any of the options (A-F) of the Core 40 with Academic Honors Score levels on work keys, accuplacer or compass

10 Courses for next year English 10 or English 10 Pre-AP (2 credits)
Next level of math (2 or 3 credits) Foreign language (3 credits) Next level of science (2 credits) World Geography or World History (if you have not done so) Any credits that need made up ! Career pathway requirements/recommendations
