4 What are Essential Oils?

5 Essential Oil Quick Facts
Essential oils are organic compounds extracted from plants that have therapeutic properties. They can be found in the plant’s flower, stem, leaves, bark or fruit. Essential oils should smell exactly like the plant they come from – often, store bought oils will have additives and synthetics to make them smell sweeter. This means that the therapeutic properties are either decreased or nonexistent. Essential oils are not the same as vegetable and/or olive oils. Vegetable oils are obtained from the fatty parts of a plant like the nuts, seeds or kernels and are greasy. These are called carrier oils since they are often used to dilute the potency of therapeutic grade essential oils when applying to your skin. Three methods of use are topically, aromatically, and internally. Young Living Essential Oils can be applied directly to the skin. Some oils need to be diluted with a carrier oil while others can be applied directly on the skin with no dilution.

6 Young Living Quick Facts
The vast majority of essential oils on the market today are only suitable for cosmetics and perfumes. The reason Young Living’s oils are so different is their unmatched commitment to producing a pure, unadulterated oil. Young Living’s devotion to creating a highly therapeutic product means they’ve invested in their own farms, care for and nurture their own plants, trees, and shrubs, and finally distill, test, and bottle the oils that arrive on your doorstep. If at any point in that production process something doesn’t meet their standards, they get rid of it and start again. Other brands of essential oils on the market are purchased from third party growers where they give 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th distillations whereas Young Living only gives 1st distillations so their oils are way more potent and provide many more therapeutic benefits. Most essential oils in the market have been produced as “fragrance grade” meaning they are used for aromatic purposes. Did you know that a company can write 100% pure essential oils on a label, but only actually use 5% of inferior essential oil and then fill the rest of the bottle with synthetics and chemicals?

I recommend customizing your order. You can do this every month and get free bonus items depending on how much you spend - these will vary from month to month. I thought that there was no way I could spend 50PV per month, but now I have to split orders over different months to get everything that I need since I am constantly experimenting with making new recipes for things. Also, based on the amount of PV you spend per month you get 10% PV back for your future orders for the first three months and then it goes up to 20-25% over the next few months.
