One of the ways to support R.O.s is to have people who are trained to complete a task and available

We have outgrown our current ride trailers which doesn’t make the R.O. job any easier

4. Focus 1 Support for R.O.s is securing Vets
To assist R.O.s in securing Vets for their event Vera has appointed a Vet co-ordinator in Fiona Passarin
This will assist the communication between Vets and VERA
all current active Vets our 2017 calendar and start locking in Vets for events
Build a contact list of Vets
Fiona has developed Fliers to promote our sport to Vets she intends to get them out to all major equine practices to encourage new Vets to our sport.
Vets are something we cant do without, its important we build a positive professional relationship with the Veterinarian profession

5. Focus 2 Support for R.O.s Sponsorship
VERA recognise that the financial part of running a ride can be difficult
VERA will try to secure a sponsor for every ride
The sponsor will provide product to be used as completion prizes
The sponsor will also provide rug sponsorship funds
The sponsor will have the opportunity to do a trade Stall at the event
The sponsor will have naming rights, exclusivity, and advertising space
We need to encourage and embrace our trade partners in the equine industry

6. Focus 3 Support for R.O.s develop people
By developing and training people to do certain roles or tasks eg.
Chief Stewards
Ride Secretaries
Webmaster
TPRs
Vet Liaison co-ordinator
Sponsorship/advertising co-ordinator
All these roles support the Ride Organiser
If you volunteer in one of these roles you are helping run rides
In 2017 there is a lot more to running a ride than setting out a track and having water on tap
The more people we have supporting these roles the easier it will be for R.O.s

7. Focus 4 Support for R.O.s Equipment
The ride trailers are too small making it very difficult for R.O.s to operate efficiently out of
We need to update
Bio Security supply's and PPE need to be added as per AERA policy
Its difficult to get a proper stocktake of what's in the trailers so R.O.s have all the necessary equipment to run a ride
We will formulate a plan to update the trailers

Explore the use of mentors for R.O.s and new people to the sport

It’s an amazing sport which we all enjoy, for the sport to continue to be amazing we need to all be supportive and positive
