14 BA5 main works Re-installation of 4 coated magnets due to vacuum leaks. Beginning of May?? Transport will be moving all of the equipement stored in ECX5 back to LSS1 (via BA6) Starting on Monday the 7th April. THEY HAVE PRIORITY IN THIS AREA!!! BE/BI works. AUG tests 20th May GE/ASE Access tests 12th June Cleaning campaign 19th to the 23rd May

15 BA6 main works Replacement of the crane in BA6 (surface)
22nd to 25th April ATLAS works on cooling towers (BA6 water OFFLINE) 22nd April to the 13th May. AUG tests 21st May GE/ASE Access tests 13th June Cleaning campaign 26th to the 30th May

16 EPC tests of the Auxiliary Converters
With this planning, OP can start the commissioning of the Software with a 1 week delay from our activities: e.g, OP tests for BA2 could start on 9th June.    What we need: The magnet interlocks shall be tested in May by MPE (R.Mompo/P.Dahlen): support from EPC is requested during this period, Services shall be present in each BA in time: water (magnet + surface building), no consignation (except BA1 until end of June), A general signalisation that some tests are ongoing: coordination EPC/MSC, EIS ( from past experiences, this is a difficult point for us during our tests, especially for TI2/TI8. I propose that when the planning is agreed on, Marc Tavlet will be contacted by EPC.

26 False floors lifted in Surface BAs
Below is a table showing the dates that EL will be pulling cables at each point of the SPS. During these periods large sections of the false floor in these surface buildings will be lifted. Any works in the BA’s that involve lifting of the false floors MUST be reported to the Coordination team BAs Cabling pulling start Cable pulling end BA1 (TS1- works) BA1 (Irradiated cable works) BA1 (Fibre Optics) 29/04/2013 08/10/2013 08/04/2013 02/08/2013 25/03/2014 24/04/2013 BA2 06/01/2014 28/04/2014 BA3 BA3 (Fibre Optics) 27/03/2013 22/04/2014 31/05/2013 20/05/2014 BA4 BA4 (Fibre Optics) 27/05/2013 07/10/2013 12/07/2013 25/10/2013 BA5 BA5 (Fibre Optics) 30/09/2013 24/05/3013 11/10/2013 BA6 BA6 (Fibre Optics) 13/09/2013 13/5/2013 08/11/2013 24/05/2013 BA7 14/10/2013 07/11/2013 If you require access to racks or other equipment in the surface buildings during these periods you must check with planning first.

27 Engineering Change Requests
Any and all new equipment being installed in the SPS requires an ECR BEFORE it can be installed. It must also be approved by planning and coordination. Templates and Guidelines for Engineering Change Requests: EDMS: SPS ECR template (in DFS):

32 Access rights and safety equipment
Everyone who enters the SPS MUST have the following: Completed the correct courses. (sir.cern.ch) Safety course levels 1, 2 and 3. or CERN Safety Introduction Safety during LS1 Habilitation Electrique. Electrical Safety Awareness Radiological Protection. (RP Training for CERN Supervised Radiation Areas) Self Rescue Mask Training. The correct access authorisation (via EDH). Zone Code “SPS” for access into the SPS Zone Code “NA_TARG” for access into BA80 Zone Code “CNGS” for access into the CNGS areas Zone Code “SPS-KN-000” for “Autorisation conduite RTL” Zone Code “SPS-KN-001” for “SPS Shutdown Padlock” A valid approved IMPACT. (with their name included on this IMPACT) They must know the number of this IMPACT. Safety shoes. Biocell. Electronic dosimetre. Passive dosimetre. All contractors must all have a company passive dosimetre!!! Helmet plus Light. Please note that personnel are not allowed to work in the tunnel alone!!

33 Important information
Useful Contact Numbers SPS Coordination Team David MCFARLANE Franck BAIS – James RIDEWOOD Control Room SPS CCC – 77500 TI CCC – 72201 CSA RP Christophe Tromel – Angelito Herve – Nadine Conan (BA1) – Elodie Aubert Kurt Weiss (BA1) Coordination Safety Emmanuel Paulat – John Etheridge

34 A.O.B. Please make sure you fill out your IMPACTS correctly!!!! And in plenty of time!!!!!! The intervention period is “LS1-SPS” Do not put “OPERATION 2013” or leave it blank as no one will sign it. With the exception of BA80, no IMPACT should have an end date after the 27th June 2014 Do not just put SPS for you location. Be more specific! There are currently 51 IMPACTs that are “LATE”. If you have completed your work then you need to close the related IMPACT. If you have ANY concerns about not being complete before the 27th June I need to know about it NOW!!!! Its very important to ensure that you leave the work site clean and tidy and that you put any rubbish in the correct bins.
