5 Working Concessions September 8th, 16th, and 23rd, October 28th, and November 4th – varying times and events Concessions does NOT count towards volunteer hours for Dean’s Reimbursement Fundraising for the AOTA Conference Checks will be handed out in March before Conference

Send reminders to volunteers for each event Attend or assign a lead to take attendance at events Track volunteer hours Weekly s and reminders for info regarding events Support the President

9 Volunteering Basics NOT the same as concessions
Need 6 volunteer hours for Dean’s Reimbursement Sign up on google doc that I will send out following each meeting Both Fall and Spring semester volunteer opportunities Myself or the future OT1 Delegate will keep track of your hours Colorado students: Talk to respective VP in order to track hours Alaska and OT3 students: use online check-in system to send in volunteer hours, the link will be attached to the following this meeting.

10 Fall Volunteer Opportunities
Ronald McDonald House Dinners: Help prepare and enjoys meals with the current residents at the Ronald McDonald House. First Monday of each month from 5:30-7:30pm. First dinner starts September 12th. Dancing Beyond Limits: Volunteer as a dance buddy and pair up with a dance student with special needs to maximize safety, participation and fun in dance class. Sundays, 4:00-4:45pm from September 17th to November 12th. Offering a new, 6 week Yoga class from 4:45-5:30pm on Sundays starting September 17th. (2-3 volunteers, smaller class size). Will send out a link with more details.

Gifford Park clean-up Help clean up around Gifford Park TBA Teen Halloween Dance Party Chaperone, vote on best costumes, and dance with kids at the Autism Society of NE. Date TBA (last year Saturday before Halloween) Other possible events

Paid now and you don’t have to pay in January Distance students & OT3’s pay via PayPal or Check Student create PayPal account: Creighton , full name, and cohort so that I can identify who the money is from. Prices are determined based on number of orders Money will be due to me (PayPal, check to CUSOTA, or cash) before I place the order). I’ll let you know when I need the money buy SAMPLES ARE HERE TODAY!! This is your chance to try on the size you want to order Distance students: polo’s run a little large, in my opinion. Order / commitment to pay google.doc comes out with the weekly . Sign up for yourself only (not friends) Will have 2 weeks to sign up for what you want Orders will be shipped to distance cohort presidents

17 Assembly of Student Delegates (ASD) Representative
Serve as a liaison between AOTA (through the ASD steering committee) and the Creighton students Primary responsibility is to share information from ASD Steering Committee and AOTA Represent Creighton and CUSOTA at the ASD Meeting at AOTA National Conference Act as a liaison between students and NOTA (attend NOTA monthly meetings) Encourage student membership at the national and state levels Update students on legislation changes

18 ASD Rep Continued Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) announced that by July 1, 2027 the occupational therapy degree programs must be moved to the doctoral level to receive accreditation. AOTA Centennial Hill Day is September 25, If you can’t make it to DC in person, try Virtual Hill Day. More information about Hill Day and Virtual Hill Day at this website: Day. Attend AOTA/NBCOT Student Conclave in Birmingham, Alabama November 3rd-4th Hill Day- a way to advocate for the profession, meet with staff members of Congressional offices to explain OT, and discuss issues/pieces of legislation that affect the profession Some reasons to attend Student Conclave: Learn everything you need to know to transition from student to practitioner Gain practice expertise Rub elbows with top leaders and connect with students from across the country Find your future job- top job recruiters and managers are there and give face-to-face interaction with HC professionals
