2 8/22/2018 OBJECTIVES Train multipliers who will structure and/or improve STEM programs at public schools in Brazil through science fairs and other strategies that will stimulate: - the learning of STEM - the Maker culture - Entrepreneurship 2) Allow for the connection with the ‘Mais Unidos’ group so that new partnerships evolve between public schools and the private sector.

Orientation for the development of innovative practices in STEM, science fairs, and other activities throughout Brazil. With the help of ‘Mais Unidos’, building lasting connections between public school and local businesses. Development of a web space for exchange of best practices in teaching STEM. Providing na opportunity for the top participants to participate in na international fair. 3

4 Total of 60 participants in the STEM TechCamp Brasil.
8/22/2018 TARGET AUDIENCE Ideally: 27 public school teachers (one from each Brazilian state). 27 STEM curriculum developers and/or teacher trainers (one from each Brazilian state). 6 teachers from Federal Institutes. Total of 60 participants in the STEM TechCamp Brasil. 4

5 8/22/2018 SELECTION CRITERIA 27 public school teachers, one from each of the 26 Brazilian states + the Federal District: Junior high or high school public school STEM teacher; Previous orientation of scientific projects – list which ones and when; Previous participation in science fairs – list which ones and when; Include a letter of recommendation from USP, FEBRACE, CONSED or another organization with a strong connection with education/STEM. 27 STEM curriculum developers/teacher trainers one from each of the 26 Brazilian states + the Federal District: Program implementers will work closely with State Secretariats of Education to select these participants. 6 representatives from Federal Institutes: STEM curriculum developers/teacher trainers or teachers. 5

Activities with USP specialists using the APICE online platform, apice.febrace.org.br: Research methodology How to organize science fairs Invited guests will present best practice cases in STEM, creative learning, and entrepreneurship. ‘Mais Unidos’ will present opportunities for learning/improving English language learning. ‘Mais Unidos’ will present best practice cases of partnerships between schools and the private sector. The use of design thinking to develop strategies for lesson planning, innovative classroom activities, and science fairs.

November 1-19 Development of content for the website and promotional materials Creation of the website and design of application form November 19-December 10 Program launch and dissemination of information about the program. 10/12/17 Deadline for applications. Until Jan. 11, 2018 Selection of teacher and coordinators. January 22, 2018 Announcement of results. USP takes care of program logistics (travel, lodging, meals, local transportation). Finalization of program content. February 19-23, 2018 IIP/TechCamp training (Feb ). USP Workshop (Feb ).
