Workplace Mentoring What Is It?
1:1 matches between students and corporation’s employees in group setting supervised by BBBS staff On-site in company cafeteria/common area or conference room During lunch hour or after school twice a month Transporting kids to site allows us to serve difficult to reach geographical areas Age group (corporate partner priorities may dictate)

Curriculum Combine relationship building (1:1 time) with
educational topics Great opportunity to align with company priorities (financial literacy, STEM, digital literacy) Corporate partners or content experts assist in design Special events great opportunity for publicity (Reverse Days, Pep rallies for testing) Preplanned, structured, themed lessons Lessons/activities tied to three core BBBS outcome areas (Educational success, risk behaviors, socio-emotional competence)

Need to identify the right corporate contact (community affairs/engagement/relations, corporate communications, or human resources) Ask board member or Big to make intro if possible Turnkey solution to help company achieve its philanthropic and employee engagement goals BBBS expertise will save company time, money and lend credibility

Boundaries and guidelines put in place by BBBS BBBS carries appropriate insurance coverage and mitigates risk for companies BBBS gathers data and reports on outcomes Ability to develop your own corporate survey to fit company’s interests

Fund Development Corporate partner provides funding (either full or partial) Programs range in size from 25 to 60 matches. Cost varies by agency - approximately $1200 per match Good board recruitment tool Additional funding opportunities may include: Event sponsorships (marketing, client entertainment, etc.) Employee giving (payroll, jeans day, united way) Dollars for Doers ($ for volunteer hours) Bowl For Kids’ Sake Workforce Investment Boards or government as potential source of funding
