QAC News A CAD Data Consolidation Pilot Project has been launched in order to secure engineering CAD data. SmarTeam announced to end product support in 2020. Additional details - presentation of Stephane Bally - chairperson of the Product Lifecycle Management Working Group and Computer Aided Engineering Committee The specification for the new EDMS functionality related to automatic stamping and PDF generation was rejected. The proposed solution – to always stamp an EDMS document, was not suitable to for some types of documents purchasing, procurement and tender documents. The EDMS team will prepare a new version of the proposal, taking into account all of the user feedback.

EDMS News The new structure of the ‘Accelerators’ node, which was previously available via the ‘Accelerators TEST’ entry in the EDMS Project Selection, has become official as of 1st of September. The old structure will be kept for reference for several weeks under the ‘Accelerators - OLD’ entry. An automated propagation of inherited contexts in the EDMS structures was launched on the 17th October by the EDMS Support and should finish within the next day From now on the context will be explicitly set on each project node and will no longer be inherited from its parent Risks, associated with inherited contexts: the action of rearranging structure could result in the loss of the initial setup (in cases when the new parent nodes had different contexts). the inheritance introducing ambiguity – for the cases where a node was attached in 2 or more different structures, there were no clear rules as to which context should be the one to inherit from

Infor EAM News A seminar for Enterprise Asset Management at CERN with Infor EAM was given by David Widegren on the 29th September: Infor EAM is one of the top systems on the global market with multiple awards Infor EAM and its various modules and integrated processes are used by users at CERN Preliminary Roadmap: EAM Light 3.0 (Desktop & Mobile) – Q4 2016 Study of streamlined creation of DAIs in EDH from Infor EAM – Q4 2016 GIS – EAM integration review – Q4 2016 MTF functionality will be transferred to EAM Light - first half of 2017, and MTF will disappear probably during the second half of 2017 Improved integration between Layout DB and Infor EAM Do you have any feedback for the above listed functionality?

Infor EAM News The latest Infor User meeting was held on the 5th October. Slides could be found here: At the Inforum conference this year (which was attended by ~ 7000 people), CERN received Excellence in Action Award Integrated barcode printing module from Infor is available now Is anybody using the barcode printing from Infor and would like to share their experience? Very useful presentation from Goran on how to use Maintenance Patterns, Campaigns and Work Packages in Infor. Is anybody using the above listed Work Management functionalities and would like to share their experience? Self service kiosk module is under testing at the moment and a demo will be presented at the next User meeting (10th November) Would anybody like to test the kiosk module?
