The Completed Plan in Options
4
Submitting the Plan into SIMS
In Year 12, we have one Band, and four Blocks.
5
The Schemes are now in SIMS
After the Options data has been submitted: There is a Scheme containing a single Band a. There are four Block schemes as expected.
6
Importing into Nova-T Launch Nova-T6, go to the Model screen.
Create Year 12. Invoke new routine “Load Curriculum from SIMS”. NB: the year doesn’t have to be empty! This routine will merge incoming data with any existing blocks and classes.
7
Select the Blocks to Import
Enter the appropriate number of periods…
8
The Options Blocks in Nova-T
Year 12 now contains these four Option Blocks
9
Adapting the Model Now the model can be extended and adapted You might want to divide the year up into bands You might want to add other Blocks (not in Options) And you will almost certainly want to staff the classes; create other year groups; schedule the timetable. You might want to import curriculum from another Plan into a different year group…
10
Submit the Timetable from Nova
The Curriculum and Timetable is submitted in the usual way
11
Assign Students to Bands
If you have split an “Options” year into several bands Then you will have to reassign student band memberships
12
Summary In previous versions of Options, the curriculum structure was transferred directly into Nova-T6 This is no longer the case! Data is first imported from SIMS into an Options Plan The Options process is carried out Data is returned from Options back into SIMS Then: Blocks are imported from SIMS into Nova-T6 Finally the timetable is submitted back into SIMS
