What is stress? The body’s and mind’s reaction to a demand or threat
Stress can be minor and go unnoticed, or major and drastically affect your life! Stress can be positive (eustress) or negative (distress)

What is a stressor? Something that causes stress!
Causes a stress response in your body Different types of stressors Noises, people, objects, places, events, situations, etc.

Environmental Stressors
Poverty, pollution, crowding, noise, natural disaster Biological Stressors Illness, disabilities, injuries Thinking Stressors Feeling stressed out before a test or a speech, worry about your future Behavioral Stressors Choosing to use tobacco, alcohol, drugs, choosing not to exercise or eat unhealthy foods Life Change Stressors Death, marriage, divorce, moving, relationships
