2 Animal Medicinal Use Drug Clarification Act (AMDUCA)
National Strategy for Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria (CARB) National Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring System (NARMS) Veterinary Feed Directives (VFD) Compliance Policy Guide: Extralabel Use of Medicated Feeds for Minor Species (CPG ) "In general, the Agency [FDA] will not recommend or initiate enforcement action against the veterinarian, animal producer, feed mill, or other distributor when extralabel use is consistent with this document." Aquatic Animal Drug Approval Partnership (AADAP) Drug Approval Working Group (DAWG)  In 2014, the White House announced the National Strategy for Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria (CARB), The NARMS program was established in 1996 as a partnership between the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The purpose of NARMS is to track resistance trends to help in the pre-approval evaluation of new animal antibiotics, to identify emerging resistance hazards and to measure interventions aimed at limiting resistance. To do this, NARMS monitors antimicrobial susceptibility in enteric bacteria from humans, retail meats, and food-producing animals.  AADAP staff works with federal agencies, native american tribes, state agencies, universities, and private partners to obtain FDA approval of new medications for use in fish culture and fisheries management The Drug Approval Working Group (DAWG) comprises members from state resource agencies of each major U.S. geographic region representing the interest of the Association's Fisheries and Water Resources Policy Committee; technical representatives of USDA, USGS, USFWS and USFDA; and the National Coordinator for Aquaculture New Animal Drug Applications.

3 Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA)
FMCSA rule that implements ELD/HOS requirements for CMVs effective December 18, 2017 Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Hours of Service (HOS) Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) Agricultural Exemption: The HOS regulations do not apply to the transportation of agricultural commodities operating completely within a 150-air mile radius. HOS not triggered until pasted that limit. Hours of Service (HOS): Driver is on-duty for 14 hours, if exceeds 11 hours of driving must stop and rest for 10 hours. Electronic Logging Devices (ELD): Automatically records vehicle function. I have an agency response to Senator Hoeven of North Dakota that explains the agricultural exemption. Wrinkle: Definition of Livestock. Letter to Secretary Perdue to gain “all fish” and not just “food fish.”

4 Lacey Act America’s first conservation legislation passed in 1900
Supported State Wildlife Regulations Prevented Injurious Wildlife importation US Association of Reptile Keepers legal challenge (USARK) NAA Lacey Act Coalition

5 NAA Lacey Act Coalition
Amend the definition of “fish or wildlife” in 16 U.S.C to exclude farm-raised animals. Reaffirm the intent of Congress to prevent the import of “injurious” wildlife. Delete FWS authority to regulate salmonid diseases described in Title 50 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Create this authority and transfer the funding to the U. S. Department of Agriculture, Veterinary Services (USDA VS). Create a process that includes a definitive timeframe for conducting science-based risk analyses to list a species as injurious wildlife, including the involvement of key stakeholders. Create the means to directly and effectively address invasive species by providing federal technical expertise to the states to identify, prevent, manage or control species.

6 Commercial Aquaculture Health Program Standards (CAHPS)
Commonsense Nonregulatory Five Principles: Aquatic Animal Health Team Risk Characterization and Management Surveillance Investigation and Reporting Response Proof of Concept: Maine (Atlantic salmon, and shellfish), North Carolina (tilapia), Rhode Island (shellfish), Idaho (trout), Florida (koi/goldfish and Washington (Atlantic salmon and shellfish).
