Introduce Claire, Lee and Stephen November 2017

We know your time is precious...
Talk about how we know time is precious for EO’s and that whilst we love talking to them and are always happy to help, we have looked at where we get the most calls to find ways of helping EO’s help themselves so that they save a little time

1 Labels and Attendance Registers
16,893 contacts re: exam administration, and over a quarter of these were about your attendance registers and labels, with a further 2050 queries about your exam paper deliveries. We’re going to give you some hints and tips about what you can do to make things easier for you in centre.

What we send you Labels Attendance Registers Exam Papers ASK has anyone had any problems receiving their labels/att registers? “Going to go through each of these items in turn and talk about what you get - and what to do if you don’t get them.” Summer exams, labels (attached to attendance registers) start going out mid-April, continue sending them out throughout May. Same with exam papers

Attendance Registers If you don’t receive a register, you can create your own Add any additional learners to the existing register (eg. late entries) Return a copy with the scripts If you have not received your attendance register you can either print off a candidate list for the relevant unit from Edexcel Online (search by course) or from the centre’s MIS - or create one using letter headed paper. Both methods will need to be signed by the invigilator. If centre does BTEC, for BTEC external assessments, there's an Attendance Register button now on the ext assessments page. Can't amend any details on the script itself (e.g. candidate number in the centre number bit, wrong candidate number, etc), but centres can add/attach a note to the attendance register, which our Results Resolution team will use when reconciling scripts A centre generated attendance register must list: • the centre number; • paper details, including tier, and date of examination; • candidate numbers and candidate names; • whether candidates were present or absent for the examination. Additional learners – add them to the bottom. Keep a copy of the attendance register until the deadline for enquiries about results has passed. Top Tip! The centre’s copy of the attendance register must be retained until the Post Results period has ended

Missing exam papers: your 4 step plan
4. Contact us 3. Check deliveries 1.EOL: Check entries (if no entries, we don’t know you need the papers!) Edexcel Online MENTION late entries - Entries made after the entry deadline will be picked up if made 3 or more days in advance of the exam. If the entry is made less than 3 days in advance, call your Account Specialist to request the papers. We aim to despatch papers the same day these entries are processed. If this is not possible, we will send the paper via an hour before the exam. 2. Question Paper Dispatch (EOL DEMO Dummy centre GCSE June 2017) 3. If your centre has made entries on time, the exam papers will arrive at the centre at least two weeks before the first exam of the session. The main paper dispatch is scheduled to avoid half terms and holidays. For the May exam series, we will start dispatch from the week after the Spring holiday. If DHL are unable to deliver, a card will be left to inform you of the missed delivery and delivery will be attempted the next working day. 4. Exhausted all options, entries definitely made, tracking shows papers have been despatched, all deliveries are safe with you in your safe and you still haven’t got the papers you are looking for, call us. Recommend give us 72 hours before date of exam - this way we can endeavour to get hard copies of the exam out to you before the scheduled exam date. If you call us on morning of, we may have to these to you for printing at centre. 2. Track your papers Check your entries

3 Access to Scripts: script viewer
Almost 6 and a half thousand queries about Post Results, including 1500 about Access to Scripts. You will hopefully be aware that one of our biggest successes this year has been the launch of the Access to Scripts (ATS) service that we made available to all centres, free of charge. This meant that, from Results day until the 28 September, centres could access their candidate scripts in real time, via our online portal. ASK: How many of you used our new online script viewer over the Summer? How was it? etc
11
Access to Scripts: script viewer
We have received some fantastic feedback from centres about how they have used the service and with 4,603 centres and over 10,000 users accessing over 433,000 scripts across 585 of our summer 2017 exams. Transparency It is also worth noting that whilst offering centres access to scripts will become a regulatory requirement from 2020, we are, so far, the only awarding organisations to do so. Furthermore, it will be for each organisation to decide how they make these scripts available and what the cost is to the centre. What is the Access to Scripts service? The Access to Scripts portal allows you to view your candidates’ marked scripts online or download as a PDF. It is a self-service portal via Edexcel Online giving you instant access. You will be able to evaluate how your candidates performed on particular questions and how that is reflected in their final grade. It will help you to identify skills gaps so you can tailor future teaching plans. 4,603 centres 10,000+ users 444,000 scripts 585 exams

Accessing your scripts
Mention: Scripts can be accessed by anyone who has the ‘Exam Viewer’ profile on Edexcel Online.

Access to Scripts service re-opened!
Available until Friday 15 December 2017 Free of charge Available for: Year 10 Science Progress Assessment GCSE and International GCSE AS/A level and IAL BTEC Firsts BTEC Nationals Traditionally marked scripts should be requested separately The service has been re-opened until Friday 15th December Please make sure that you download or print any scripts that you want to access before the deadline. The service was originally available during the Post Results period and closed on 28th September. Although the Access to Scripts service has now been re-opened, all Enquiries about Results (EAR) services remain closed. Please note that candidate consent is required before requesting script copies With the Post Results Services window now closed it is no longer possible for centres to apply for an EAR. However, we know from the feedback we have received from centres that they would still find it useful to access their candidate scripts in order to inform future teaching and learning. It is for this reason that we are really pleased to announce that from next week centres will be able to have access to scripts, via the portal and free of charge. This service will be available until Friday 15 December and will be available for the following GQ and VQ qualifications: Year 10 Science Progress Assessment; GCSE and International GCSE; AS/A level and IAL; BTEC Firsts; BTEC Nationals This service is available for any exam paper that has been marked online. Please note that the exam papers will not have any examiners annotation on them, purely the mark received for each question. Any traditionally marked scripts for Year 10 Science Progress Assessments will need to be requested from All other traditionally marked scripts for the qualifications listed on the slide will be available through Edexcel Online. Senior teaching staff or Heads of Department can be given appropriate access to Edexcel Online. Here they can submit the marks electronically.
