PhD, meta - information process modelling, City University London in 1979. Positions in: England, Australia, New Zealand, research professorships in USA, Hong Kong and Chile. Foundation Chair in Information Science at The University of Otago, New Zealand in 1987 1999: Deputy Vice Chancellor, Auckland University of Technology (AUT): academic, research innovation and enterprise activities 2009 returned to full-time research, now Director, Geoinformatics Research Centre, AUT: Also Pro Vice Chancellor, strategic planning and ambassadorial tasks.

Keynote Speaker-2: Assoc. Prof Dr Mohammad Faizal Ahmad Digital Pathology for Cancer Diagnosis and Prognosis Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering, Multimedia University, Cyberjaya. 1999: B.Eng. Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Imperial College, London 2004: Ph.D. Electronics and Computer Science, University of Southampton Research interests: signal and image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision and biomedical informatics. Published over 70 journal and conference articles to date. Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Chair of the Signal Processing Society Malaysia Chapter from 2008 to Under his stewardship, the chapter won the inaugural IEEE Signal Processing Society Chapter of the Year Award in 2011. Currently serving as the Chair of the IEEE Malaysia Section since January 2017.
