What are they? Statutory Non-Statutory Voluntary

Statutory Statutory services have been set up because parliament has passed a law that requires the services to be provided

Statutory Sector Organisations
The two main provides of statutory services are the National Health Service (NHS) and local authority services, they are organised national, regional and local levels

Examples Statutory services are free e.g. Accident and emergency departments Including NHS trusts and local authority services

Non-Statutory Private organisations are run on a profit- making basis and are businesses

Examples E.g private residential homes

Voluntary Services Voluntary services are run on a non-profit making company such as a charity or brownies

Examples e.g National Children’s Bureau, an organisation that provides care for children and young people
