Nelson Mandela South Africa's anti-apartheid revolutionary
For your Q3 project, you are going to read this biography by Diane Dakers which you will find on the ABS Library site. Please begin reading it as soon as possible.

Timeline You will create a timeline with at least 12 but no more
than 18 important dates/events that have taken place over his lifetime. For each event, you will write a sentence paragraph explaining the significance of the event. In addition to this, you must include illustrations. See examples on next page, but please use your own creativity and words. Your final project will be due on March 14, No late projects will be accepted.

Paragraphs must be typed and illustrations must be neatly drawn or attached to the timeline. It should have a professional appearance, but all work must be done by you! Any work done by a professional will not be accepted. Project due Monday, March 14th. You will be marked on the following areas. Followed instructions: 10 pts. Neatness: 20 pts. Paragraphs with correct grammar and punctuation: 20 pts. Illustrations included: 10 pts. For advanced students – extra paragraph: 10 pts. Total = /60 or /70

How you will be graded Based on a 4 point scale, 1 being the lowest possible mark and 4 the highest, in each of the four categories below: Visual Presentation: Timeline/illustrations are neat and tidy, paragraphs are legible and connected to the correct date, pasting is neat, no glue blobs or lumps Content: Completion of all required elements from the previous slides, originality of examples, i.e. correct citation where necessary Knowledge: Examples from the story must show understanding of the element being cited Mechanics: Grammatical correctness of sentences including spelling, punctuation, capital letters To elaborate, a score of 4 in any category will only be given if there are no mistakes so make sure that you go over your work at least a couple of times. A score of zero in any category will only be given if you did not do any part of that category. Please see the rubric on Powerschool for details.
