Mexico’s system of government is federal republic Mexico’s legal system is a civil law system with US constitutional law influence Mexico is 92.7 percent Spanish speaking because of the Spanish that colonized it Other indigenous languages are Mayan, Nahuatl, and other regional languages Mexico’s national symbol is the gold eagle It has a population of 120,286,655 people which is ranked 12th in the world Its National currency is Pesos, about 13 or so pesos is the same as one U.S. dollar

3 Basic Facts about Mexico continued
Mexico has a 1.3 trillion dollar economy More than half of the Mexican people live in the centre of the country, whereas vast areas of the arid north and the tropical south are sparsely settled Mexican society is categorized in two completely different sections, extremes of wealth and poverty Mexico is one of the chief economic and political forces in Latin America It is still a developing country Mexico has the largest population of spanish speaking people

4 GDP of Mexico Mexico’s GDP was raising very slowly and consistently up until 1992 in 1992 the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), trade pact was signed This was to lower trading tariffs between Mexico the U.S.A. and Canada After this trading pact was made you can see that Mexicos GDP has increased much more significantly in the last 14 years than is has ever as seen on the graph Mexicos GDP has greatly benefited by this pact Its GDP has raised much slower than Latin America as a whole although it has picked up because of the NAFTA

5 Mexico’s migration rate
Mexico’s migration rate has always been negative towards the population mostly because of the high amount of people in poverty It is low compared to most latin American countries like Belize, Puerto Rico, and Panama which stand around a net neutral migration rate There was a severe dip in the Migration rate in the years of This is when a drug war and a crime syndicate called Los Zetas formed The group was known for its violent behavior and tight structure but in 2003 the leader was brought down so migration rate began to rise again

6 Population Growth Rate
Mexico’s population growth rate has been going down for almost all of the country's life. The population growth grew when the (NAFTA) pact was made between mexico Canada and the USA and after that it began to increase at the time of the drug wars and has stayed somewhat steady after the leader of the syndicate that started the wars was brought down The population growth rate of Mexico is pretty much the same as the rest of Latin America with its own little dips and spikes

7 Unemployment rate The Unemployment rate of Mexico is ranked 45th in the world at 4.9% Surprisingly when the trade pact between Canada Mexico and the US happen the unemployment rank spiked to 7% and right in the middle of the drug wars timeslot where people were leaving the country the employment rate dipped to 2.5% The data shows that when less people are migrating out of the country the higher the unemployment rate is The unemployment rate is all over the place and shows no sign of stable increase or decrease

8 Transportation in Mexico
Mexico has the third most airports in one country in the world at 1714 airports This allows them to create trade easily and to get new tourist and possible migrants in and out of the country quickly They have all those airports and only 1 Heliport Mexico transports citizens in and out of the country very efficiently threw flight but the country also has 17,166 km of railway for citizens to move freely throughout the country

9 Mexican Imports and Exports
The United States is also the source of about three-fifths of Mexican imports and the destination for more than four-fifths of the country’s exports. Top 5 Products exported by Mexico Crude Petroleum (13%), Cars (8.9%), Computers (5.4%), Video Displays (5.4%), and Delivery Trucks (5.0%) Top 5 Products imported by Mexico Broadcasting Accessories (3.4%), Computers (3.3%), Telephones (2.8%), Cars(2.6%), and Office Machine Parts (2.1%) Mexico makes the most money off of crude petroleum every year Also interesting to see that there are some major imports that are also major exports mostly technonogy based things on the import side

10 Did globalization help or hurt Mexico?
Overall globalization did help my country Mexico. Globalization is helping citizens that are in poverty dig their way out of the ditch. Globalization is also a reason why Mexican trade is opening up and tariffs are being brought down setting the country up to make money. Also globalization has helped bring new people into the country very efficiently through flight. Another thing globalization improved was GDP and the migration rate which are both on the rise for Mexico. Globalization has definitely benefited Mexico so far and it will continue to improve Mexico.
