15. FAQs How much does Update Compliance cost?
Update Compliance is available for Pro SKU and up. All Windows Analytics solutions are “zero rated” within OMS log analytics; not charged, don’t count against data limits.
Do I have to install any agent on my machines?
No. The data collector is an in-box OS component.
How much data is uploaded off of my machines?
Few Kilo Bytes every day.
Do I have to use Windows Update for Business to use Update Compliance?
No. Update Compliance works agnostic of any management solution you choose.

What are the telemetry requirements for using Update Compliance?
In order to use Update Compliance, your Windows 10 machines will need to have a telemetry level of ‘Basic’ or higher. For Windows Defender AV insights, you need to enable cloud delivered protection.
Is there a way to pull data from Update Compliance and bring it inhouse?
Yes. You can either export a query result to excel or you can use OMS Log Analytics Search REST API to get data from your workspace.
Is there a limit on export to excel?
Currently the limit on a single export to excel is 5K. OMS is moving to a new log analytics backend (currently in preview and will GA soon), with which the limit has been increased to 10K. In order to export more data than 10K you will need to loop through the query using skip and top functions.
