THE CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 33 [ Pastor / CONGREGATION ]
13
Minister: Shout for joy in the LORD
Minister: Shout for joy in the LORD! Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre; make melody to Him with the harp! People: Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom He has chosen as His heritage!
14
Minister: The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue.
15
People: Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His steadfast love, that He may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine.
16
Minister: Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield
Minister: Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in Him, because we trust in His holy name. People: Let Your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in You.
17
Confession of Faith: (from Heidelberg Catechism, Q&A 26) ALL: I believe that the eternal Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who out of nothing created heaven and earth and everything in them, who still upholds and rules them by His eternal counsel and providence, is my God and Father because of Christ His Son.
18
I trust Him so much that I do not doubt He will provide whatever I need for body and soul, and He will turn to my good whatever adversity He sends me in this sad world.
19
He is able to do this because He is Almighty God; He desires to do this because He is a faithful Father
20
Congregational Prayer of Confession ALL: O God of heaven, we confess that we have not lived our lives in the light of eternity.
21
We have not held fast to the truth that “the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed to us.”
22
We have not set our eyes on the unseen eternal things, but set them time and time again on transient things; things we hope will save us; things we hope will give us joy; things to keep us from becoming bored.
23
But Lord, we also confess that we have not sufficiently thanked You for the provision You make for our lives now. We seldom thank You for the men and women who serve and protect our nation.
24
We are not in the habit of praying for the governors which You have set over us. We are ungrateful for the liberties we enjoy every day, always craving more than we deserve.
25
Lord, save us from our sin, and guide us in Your ways
Lord, save us from our sin, and guide us in Your ways. Take our lives in Your hands, and do with them what You will.
26
SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION
27
Words of Assurance and Pardon of the Gospel (Psalm 146
Words of Assurance and Pardon of the Gospel (Psalm ) Minister: Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD our God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry.
28
The LORD sets the prisoners free; the LORD opens the eyes of the blind
The LORD sets the prisoners free; the LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous. This is the good news! People: Thanks Be to our great God!

I WILL SING OF THE MERCIES
OF THE LORD FOREVER Hymn # 161
30
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever, I will sing, I will sing. I will sing of the mercies of the Lord.
31
With my mouth will I make known Thy faithfulness, Thy faithfulness; Thy faithfulness to all generations.
33
Hebrews 11:8-10, By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise.
34
For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God. These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.
35
For people who speak thus make it clear that they are seeking a homeland. If they had been thinking of that land from which they had gone out, they would have had opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared for them a city.
36
Colossians 3:1-4 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
37
3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God
3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
38
Minister: The grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the Word of the Lord is forever. People: Thanks be to our great God
39
The Lord’s Prayer OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME.
THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD, AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS; AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY FOREVER AMEN

America The Beautiful Hymn# 799

O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed His grace on thee, And crown thy good with brotherhood, From sea to shining sea!
47
O beautiful for pilgrim feet, Whose stern impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat Across the wilderness! America! America! God mend thine every flaw, Confirm thy soul with self control, thy liberty in law!
48
O beautiful for heroes proved, in liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved, And mercy more than life! America! America! May God thy gold refine, Till all success be nobleness, and every gain divine!
49
O beautiful for patriot dream, That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam, Undimmed by human tears! America! America! God shed His grace on thee, And crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea!
